Designer Spotlight: Alina Druga Interiors

At the heart of Alina Druga Interiors is a simple but powerful philosophy: every space should tell a story. For Alina Druga, design isn’t about following trends—it’s about crafting environments that are warm, inviting, and reflective of the people who live in them. With a modern yet approachable aesthetic, her work balances beauty and practicality, creating spaces that feel as good as they look.

Where Passion Meets Precision

“I believe great design starts with truly understanding my clients—their lifestyles, their needs, and the way they want to feel in their space,” Alina shares. As a mother of two, she intimately understands the importance of balancing beauty with practicality, creating homes that reflect the personalities and needs of every family member.

“Our motto is ‘designing with you in mind,’and it’s more than just words.” says Alina. “Every decision I make, every detail I choose, is centered around making their vision come to life in a way that feels effortless and enduring.”

Transforming a Midcentury Boys Bathroom

A recent project in Lafayette, California, showcases Alina’s philosophy in action. Tasked with transforming a dated boys’ bathroom into a sleek, functional retreat, Alina created a design that blends playful energy with timeless appeal.

“I loved the challenge of creating a space that could handle the wear and tear of teenage life while still feeling stylish and cohesive with the home’s mid century architecture,” she says.

The Perfect Finishes

For the flooring, Alina selected a large format porcelain tile with a matte finish from AKDO, a choice that offered both practicality and a sleek, modern aesthetic. The walls feature a mix of clean, timeless finishes, including a white penny round tile with a matte finish in the shower pan and a coordinating 3x12 tile by Adex USA stacked on the lateral walls. To inject personality into the design, she added a vibrant accent with Sonoma Tilemakers Hustle Jive Recycled Glass Tile on the shower’s window wall, creating an eye-catching focal point.

Custom vanities with ample storage and dual sinks, paired with mirrored cabinets equipped with built-in outlets, ensured the space was as functional as it was beautiful. The countertops, Iconic White Quartz from Silestone, provided a durable, low-maintenance surface for both the vanity and the shower bench.

“This project was about finding the perfect balance between style and practicality,” Alina explains. “The materials needed to work hard for the space, but I also wanted it to reflect the boys’ personalities and feel fun yet timeless.”

A Collaborative Approach

Alina thrives on collaboration, and her process starts with listening—really listening. “I always begin by having open, detailed conversations with my clients, asking about their daily routines, their favorite places, and the emotions they want their space to evoke,” she shares. “It’s about uncovering the layers of who they are and what they need, so I can tailor the design to them.”

In the boys’ bathroom, that collaboration extended to experimenting with textures, layouts, and sustainable materials. “I love when clients are open to exploring new ideas—it’s when the magic happens,” she says.

A Design and a Partnership Built to Last

A long-standing partner in Alina’s design journey is All Natural Stone in Dublin, California. “Their selection is stunning, and the quality is unparalleled,” she says. “I’ve worked with Gail Callahan for years—she’s not just a resource but a friend. Knowing I can trust the materials and the people behind them makes all the difference.”

Reflecting on the project, Alina’s pride shines through. “What I love most is how the bathroom turned out to be both practical and personal. It’s a space that works for the boys now and will grow with them. To me, that’s what good design is all about—making life easier, more beautiful, and more meaningful.”

With her unique blend of passion, precision, and personal connection, Alina Druga Interiors continues to elevate everyday spaces into extraordinary ones. For Alina, every project is more than a job—it’s the art of bringing her clients’ dream spaces to life.
